The agenda included a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Brava, Amândio Brito, due to the institutional relationship between the Government and the Municipalities. The aim was to discuss the concerns, programs and projects underway, as well as finding ways to strengthen this collaboration.
During the visit, one of the highlights was the water supply desalination project, an investment of 7 million euros, including the road leading to the desalination area, which promises to change the island's reality. With a production capacity of 500 tons of water per day, using solar energy, the project will guarantee a continuous supply of drinking water for the population of the island of Brava.
Ambassador Jean-Marie Frentz expressed his satisfaction with the progress made, highlighting the logistical complexity of the desalination project and the positive impact it will have on people's quality of life on the Brava.
The delegation also learned about the work of the BiFlores Association, which works to conserve terrestrial and marine biodiversity by transforming invasive species into economic opportunities, such as sustainable crafts.
The Minister's agenda also included visits to farmers, cattle breeders and cheese producers, reinforcing the Government's commitment to creating more favorable conditions for local production and boosting Brava as a model of sustainability for Cape Verde and the world.
